Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any questions that are not answered here please do get in touch.

How do I arrange an appointment?

Please send us a message here and we will get back to you as soon as possible with further information.

How often are the sessions?

Sessions are held weekly and usually at the same time and day each week, as this gives structure and consistency to the therapeutic work.

What time are sessions?

Sessions are 50 minutes long. This is known as a ‘therapeutic hour’ and is standard practice.

Do you offer remote sessions?

Yes, we offer remote video sessions.

What if I want to work with a specific person?

If you are looking to start therapy with a particular therapist, then please request this in your message and we will get back to you ASAP.

What are the fees?

The fees are on a sliding scale for each member of our team, which reflects their qualifications and experience.

Do you offer emergency sessions?

The Belgravia Psychology Practice is not an emergency service and we are unable to offer crisis support. If you are concerned for you own or another’s safety (for example, you think someone may be feeling suicidal, psychotic or in physical danger) then you should contact your GP, emergency services or local A&E department and use the crisis numbers provided on the Crisis Numbers page.

How do I pay?

Once you and your therapist have arranged a session, you will receive an invoice via email with details for payment via bank transfer. Fees are payable before the start of each session. Please note that if we have not received payment prior to the start of each session, your session will not be able to go ahead.

Will my medical insurance cover the cost of my fees?

If you have medical insurance please mention this in your enquiry. We are able to take referrals from many medical insurance providers, however different providers have different criteria and procedures for deciding whether they will pay for your psychological treatment and for how many sessions. Payment will also depend on the level of cover of your insurance contract. You should check these details with your provider.

What if I need to cancel a session?

If you are unable to attend an appointment, please let your therapist know as soon as you can. Appointments that are canceled with less than 24 hours’ notice will still be charged in full. If you arrive late for an appointment, your session will still end at the usual time.
