Dr Danielle Pearce
CPsychol, DClinPsy
Dr Danielle Pearce is a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist with experience across psychological therapy, neuropsychology and neurorehabilitation. She works with adults experiencing a range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, adjustment to life changes, relationship difficulties, and challenges with confidence and self-esteem.
Danielle takes an individualised and integrated approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based psychological approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, she works collaboratively with each client to understand their individual circumstances, identify what is important to them, and develop strategies that are meaningful and practical in their everyday lives. The needs of the client are central to her approach, with therapy adapted according to the person, their goals and the difficulties they are experiencing.
Danielle has a particular interest in supporting people to adjust to significant changes in their lives, including those associated with illness, injury, disability or a new diagnosis. Her background in neurorehabilitation has given her extensive experience of supporting individuals living with acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions, as well as the partners and family members around them. A significant change in someone’s health can affect identity, relationships, family roles and expectations, and Danielle is interested in helping people make sense of these changes and find ways of adapting while maintaining their own wellbeing and relationships. This may include supporting relatives who are adjusting to changes in the person they knew, taking on new responsibilities, or navigating a shift in their role from partner, parent or family member towards that of a carer.
Danielle also has a developing specialist interest in couples work and relationship difficulties and is undertaking further training in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT).
She aims to provide a thoughtful, collaborative and non-judgemental space where clients can develop a better understanding of themselves and their circumstances, and work towards changes that are meaningful to them.
