Dr Cheryl Francis

I am a HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with experience in both the NHS and private practice. My approach is integrative, drawing from a variety of therapeutic models to meet your unique needs. I strive to create a warm, open, and empathic space where you feel safe to be yourself and share your experiences. I believe in working with both individual and collective understandings of health and wellness, ensuring a holistic approach to your well-being.

I have experience working with individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and life circumstances. My therapeutic approach is flexible, combining elements of Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Systemic Therapies. I focus on working collaboratively with you, rather than following a one-size-fits-all method. I am also experienced in providing neurodiversity-affirmative therapy. With over five years of experience in the NHS, I currently work with individuals facing long-term health conditions, providing holistic support that goes beyond treatment to address the complex emotional, psychological, and practical challenges they encounter. My role involves empowering individuals to manage their health, improve their quality of life, and navigate the intricate systems of care that impact their well-being.

I create a space that not only acknowledges but celebrates all forms of difference and diversity. I work collaboratively with clients to explore how societal systems may contribute to mental health challenges, helping to navigate and understand these complexities together. With a comfort in discussing a wide range of experiences and identities, I integrate both traditional and non-traditional therapeutic models.
