What to expect

Step 1

Send us a message via our contact page. Briefly describe the difficulties you and your partners would like support with and if you are keen to speak to a particular member of our team.

Step 2

We will get in touch to arrange an initial phone call. This can be with both of you together, just one of you or seperate calls with each of you. This is not an in depth call but an opportunity to for you to ask any questions and to discuss your availability and main concerns.

Step 3

Your therapist will conduct a thorough assessment with you together, as well as each of you individually. This will allow each of you space to express the difficulties from your perspcetive and together identify shared goals.

Step 4

There is no obligation beyond this first session, so if you both feel that you and your therapist are not a good fit or that on reflection this is not the right time for you to start therapy, then this is entirely fine and you can let us know via email.

In person or online?

We offer in person therapy sessions at our offices in Hans Road (for a virtual tour click here) and Goswell Road (for a virtual tour click here) but we also offer online therapy sessions. Some people prefer the idea of speaking to someone in person, but online therapy can offer an easy and convenient alternative. Scheduling online sessions means that we can be more flexible with timings and offer you more availability. In addition, by meeting via video link you can engage in therapy from the comfort of your own home, without the need for commuting.

The evidence suggests that for couples therapy online sessions are just as effective as in person therapy. We can also arrange online sessions where you and your partner join from the same device or separate devices, whichever you prefer. We can also offer a mixture of in person and online sessions, to manage work and family commitments. To find out if online support is right for you get in touch here. We will be able to answer any questions you have.
