Dr Celeste Teo

Over the past eight years, I have worked with adolescent and adult clients in NHS primary care, inpatient, community, and physical health settings to help them achieve their goals and live meaningful lives. I aim to deliver culturally responsive interventions that best meet the client’s needs while making evidence-based therapies accessible.

My therapeutic approach is integrative and person-centred, drawing on evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Narrative Therapy and I have completed Level One of Schema Therapy. I have also completed Level One of the Systemic Pathway (accredited by The Association for Family Therapy and Systemic Practice). Besides clinical work, I am also involved in providing consultations and talks for organisations applying psychological insights across various contexts.

I have experience working with adults with various mental (e.g., anxiety, depression) and physical health problems, particularly those with neurological and chronic respiratory conditions. I have experience providing therapy to young people aged 11-17 struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, and trauma.  In Singapore, I worked at the Institute of Mental Health for 4 years providing psychological support for adults who had enduring mental health difficulties (e.g., bipolar disorder, psychosis) and substance misuse. I was awarded Public Sector Transformation Award in 2018 for excellence in service delivery and dedication to serving the community.

Having lived in Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, and the U.K, I can relate to expatriates coming to live and work in the U.K, including the stress one can experience at work and home due to a culture change. I am fluent in English, Mandarin, Bahasa Malaysia and currently learning Arabic. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, the outdoors, live theatre (musical, orchestra, ballet), and am a confessed foodie.
